PhotoTidier Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

PhotoTidier (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an on-device photo organization application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The core promise of PhotoTidier is privacy: your photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

1. Overview

PhotoTidier helps you organize, find, protect, and clean up photos stored in your iPhone’s photo library. All AI features — semantic search, duplicate detection, blur detection, face grouping, and OCR — run entirely on your device using on-device machine learning (CoreML / Vision). We do not have access to your photos.

2. Information We Collect

We collect very little information:

Photos and metadata: When you grant photo library access, PhotoTidier reads photo thumbnails and metadata (dates, locations) on your device only, to power organization, search, and cleanup features. This data never leaves your device.

Usage analytics (optional): If enabled, we collect anonymized, aggregated usage events (e.g., “onboarding completed”, “search executed”) to improve the product. This can be turned off at any time in Settings.

Communications: If you contact support, we receive your message and email address to respond.

We do not collect crash reports or any diagnostic logs, and we do not offer any paid features in the current version.

3. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above solely to: (a) provide and improve the App’s features; (b) respond to support requests; and © comply with legal obligations.

4. On-Device Processing

All photo analysis, indexing, search, and organization happens on your device. No photo data is transmitted to our servers or to any third-party cloud for processing. The App works in airplane mode.

5. Analytics

Analytics is off by default and can be disabled anytime in Settings. If enabled, our analytics service may collect device model, OS version, and anonymized event data. We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA).

7. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services, subject to their own privacy policies: Apple (App Store distribution) and optional analytics services (e.g., Firebase). These parties process data only as needed to provide their services.

8. Data Security

Because your photos never leave your device, the primary protection is your device’s own security (device passcode). The optional encrypted Vault uses AES-256 encryption with keys protected by the device’s Secure Enclave.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Your photos remain in your photo library and are never copied to our systems, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. App settings, organization records, search history, and trash-bin records are stored locally on your device. Deleting the App removes these local records. You may revoke photo access at any time via iOS Settings.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You can: revoke photo library access at any time (iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos); and delete the App to remove all locally stored app data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the App and take effect when the updated policy is published, with the new Effective Date noted at the top.
